Breaking New Ground for Inclusion
As one of the first of its kind in the US, AbleLight Village, a Christian community, will be a stunning new adult only housing destination for active seniors age 55 years and older and independent adults with disabilities, built and operated by AbleLight. AbleLight is one of the nation’s largest and most highly respected nonprofit providers of resources to people with developmental disabilities.
This “game changing” development creates the ultimate opportunity for people to come together and enjoy a beautiful environment and each other’s company, offering both apartment homes and townhome-style villas.
With at least 20% of the units made especially available for independently minded people with developmental disabilities who would like to live on their own in a comfortable, affordable home in a welcoming community,
AbleLight Village will be a vibrant community and a “hub of activity” where amenities will include:
- Tech enabled homes that feature a smart tech approach to security, comfort and inclusion.
- Beautiful community spaces that offer a wide variety of activities, classes, exercise, social events, faith-related events and more
- Outdoor walking path and places to enjoy a lovely day outside
- Community Connections with events that will offer the general community opportunities to mix, mingle and support AbleLight Village
This replicable community model provides an opportunity to truly demonstrate AbleLight’s Christian mission, and to invite others to join the movement to create inclusive, integrated and supportive homes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Imagine a place where people of all abilities use their strengths to serve a meaningful purpose in their community
A place where people of all abilities live, socialize and worship together
A place where everyone belongs
